Other things are:
1. Finally get in shape - I used to say, lose weight but I seriously don't care about what the scale says. It is more about how my clothes fit and how I look in those clothes. I want to feel like I am in shape.
2. Be more confident - I am not typically a confident person. Usually, I am the quiet one who WANTS to do things but who never does do them. I have talked myself out of so many things simply because I was not confident enough to do them. I KNEW I was smart enough but something always held me back. Well, I say NO MO!! This year I am the lead teacher for the teacher of the visually impaired program in my county. I teach part time but then have some admin duties to keep the program organized and running properly. Really this is just a nice way of saying "paper pusher". I am not an administrator who is OVER people (as that has been pointed out by the other teachers NUMEROUS times). I do assessments for any student who is in the referral process for a visual impairment, keep the records organized for about 75 students, and make sure the other TVI's know how to stay in compliance with the laws and rules of special education. This has been the biggest leap I have made and is helping my confidence immensely. I still question myself some days but each morning I wake up and go back to work. My motto is "fake it until you make it." I'm hoping one day soon I won't have to fake it.
3. Be a better mom/wife - This is one area in which I really want to do better. I want to have a clean house for the hubs and kids. I want to have a nutritious meal ready every evening. I want us to all sit and eat dinner as a family and talk about our day. I want to have more hubs time. Let's see if I can at least make this one happen.
So, basically I am your average little Ky gal; teacher by day and then mom of 2 teenage boys (gulp), wife to my musician/teacher hubby, and new owner of 2 fur babies by night. Let's see if I can keep up a blog and have anything interesting to say.
