A few days ago a friend sent me a Facebook message asking if I wanted to do the 21 Day Sugar Detox. Without thinking I said "sure, it will be fun". WTH?!?! Then she sent me the sheet with the info. Apparently it is from the book 21Day Sugar Detox. I thought I would be so awesome and do Level 3... the most restrictive.
Well, it is day 8 and... oh, how the mighty have fallen. On day 6 I ate 1 piece of pizza, 4 or 5 Hershey's mini's and 3 boneless wings drenched in the most wonderful ranch I have ever tasted. MMMMM. Makes me want to run to the fridge right now!!
I got back and have tried to PLAN for meals and snacks to keep me from just eating everything in sight. What is that saying that all the fitness and healthy living bloggers keep posting all over the place.... Failing to plan is planning to fail. Well, apparently I planned the shit out of failing on day 6!!!
On a similar note, I have decided NOT to do the 21 day sugar detox as it is written. Instead, I have cut out processed foods, most dairy, gluten and am only eating things like honey rather than refined sugar. The biggest change I have seen is that my stomach is no longer bloated. I believe the gluten was the cause of that. I love bread but when I eat it, I wake up feeling like I have a brick in my stomach. So, I will try to keep eating this way BUT I won't deprive myself. That just leads to binging later on.
My plan is to post my meals here (either just in text or pics if I get fancy). This will keep me accountable.
Off to eat a veggie and pretend it is chocolate!
